Meredith, Terrier Mix

“We reached out to Fluff Scouts with hopes of socializing our adopted four-year-old terrier and acclimating her to unfamiliar people and dogs. The tools that Micki gave to us showed clear positive results after only a few sessions. Micki has an ability to read and connect with dogs that is unique and invaluable in the training process. We recommend talking with Micki even for a consultation if you are on the fence about in home dog training. It’s worth it!”

“Micki was referred to me by my best friend, who happens to own a dog services business. I felt comfortable with Micki right away. She listened to what our family needed, met with Bobby, a huge Great Pyrenees puppy, and created a list of what to work with us on based on what we talked about- prioritizing safety above all else. Micki gave us homework to do with Bobby each day and we saw an improvement. I wish I would have brought in Micki right when I brought Bobby home, instead of waiting until we had issues. I would recommend anyone considering getting a dog to speak with Micki at Fluff Scouts prior to adopting since she can go over what breeds need what type of attention and space. Getting Micki involved in training right away is the way to go and I will be telling all of my friends about Fluff Scouts and the great service they provide.”

“Micki has been Beau’s favorite human for the better part of two years and counting. That’s a testament to her incredible character, diverse experience, kindness, and passion for dogs. Beau’s journey with Micki started with just weekly walks. That all changed when Beau was diagnosed with a retinal detachment in his right eye, underwent 7 surgeries in the span of year, and the eventual removal of his eye. Micki has been along for the ride since day one of his surgeries, not only as a professional, but as a supportive friend. What started with walks, butterflied into weekly trainings to help address the trauma of the surgeries. She has been indispensable with not only supporting Beau, but supporting me as a guardian, and educating me on how best to support his needs.

Beau’s and my journey together would look a lot different today if we were not fortunate enough to have Micki there helping guide us and providing the much needed expert support. I’m grateful for all of her incredible technical knowledge, lived experiences, and most of all, her big heart.”

“Our experience with Micki has been wonderful and eye-opening. Our rescue pup, Rosie, was afraid of us (and everything that moves) when we adopted her. Micki has taught us so much! We have learned how to help Rosie adapt to all the new things in her world. Rosie has come out of her shell – she is a snuggly, loving little girl – and she’s now doing well meeting other dogs and going out in the world, like dog-friendly restaurants. Our time with Micki had been good for us too – in addition to learning a lot about how to help Rosie, we enjoy our time with Micki! So glad we connected! ”

“We rescued our Great Pyrenees mix unexpectedly and quickly realized that we were out of our depth in training our incredibly shy puppy, Dottie. She was pretty scared of things (we have a 4-year-old and 3 cantankerous cats) and spent her first few nights sleeping outside. We needed some quality training if we we were going to have social, happy, family pet. This is where Micki came in. They were available quickly, had great communication, and best-of-all created a solid connection with our otherwise aloof puppers. Dottie’s training started with basic steps like walking on a leash (instead of zig zagging everywhere) and not jumping on our child or my aging mother. Under Micki’s creative and kind guidance, we took on coming to us even while off leash, and the Halloween section of Lowe’s. Today, Dottie comes to work with me where she calmly and sweetly interacts with people with disabilities and all their assistive technology devices. We love how much she enjoys getting out and meeting new people. None of this would have been possible without Micki’s support. If you need a dog trainer, you found the best.”

"I pride myself in being self sufficient, and getting things done on my own. When it comes to my Sadie girl, I realized that I’m not equipped to do what is best for her by myself. Sadie is a rescue from TX. No one knows exactly what trauma she may have had early on in life, but she’s displayed a lack of confidence and can be reactive in unfamiliar situations, along with a tendancy to be overly excited / fixated on our walks together, to the point they weren’t a good time for either of us."

"When we met Micki, the owner and creator of Fluff Scouts, our lives were forever changed for good! Micki has a special gift as a dog trainer, and expands on that gift through determination, patience, persistence, and continued education. Her work with Sadie has yielded amazing results! I see Sadie’s overall confidence growing, and it fills my heart with delight!"

"There was a moment of pure joy, wonder, and admiration the first time I took Sadie on a loose leash walk. Micki in just a few sessions had accomplished what I could not have done by myself, and I will be forever grateful that my wonderful Sadie is becoming the dog she was always meant to be!"
